I jumped at the chance for a staycation in my city of Miami at the beautiful Blue Moon Hotel. I was searching for a Miami hotel that was less club, more lazy pool lounger and I knew I found the place when I scoped out Blue Moon’s worn wooden floors, pristine white walls and furnishings that invite you to unwind in every corner of every room. Blue Moon is a boutique hotel that gives off the feel of being at a private beach estate. The relaxation begins as soon as you enter this modernized art deco building, where you’re greeted by the most helpful and friendly staff imaginable; it feels like you’ve just arrived at a house full of good friends.
You’re just a 5 minute walk from everything you could want; the beach is a block away, the hotel is surrounded by restaurants, bars and clubs. As a native to Miami, I can vouch that this hotel is well located. Just know that you’ll probably need the $25/day valet service for your car because parking is limited and pricey.
You will have serious trouble getting out of bed in the morning. If I could steal a mattress, it would be from the Blue Moon Hotel. My only regret is not investigating where they get their pillows. I’m a picky sleeper; I need graveyard level silence, cushions like clouds and I better not end up on the edge of the bed. This Miami hotel gave me all of that. The only real issue was an unresolved key card malfunction (partly unresolved because I left before it became a problem).
I stayed in a queen room, which was just large enough to enjoy and not feel boxed in. The overall decor is neutral and contemporary. As a total glutton, I did regret the lack of a refrigerator. The bathroom, however, was exquisite. Even the toiletry products offered were actually worth taking home, though put lavender or mint in anything and I can’t resist it. Room rates start at $139/night.
Yes, there is a pool! It’s a comfortable size for a boutique hotel and lends a much needed air of calm intimacy to contrast the constant movement of Miami. The Blue Moon Hotel offers concierge service, a 24 hour front desk, valet parking and an in home bar that serves craft beer. The restaurant has a well curated selection with a colorful breakfast menu (pork belly benedicts, rock shrimp & stone crab omelets, Cuban paninis and Rice Krispie-crusted French toast) but no vegan options and not vegetarian friendly overall.
The Blue Moon: ✯✯✯✯ (4/5)
I would happily stay at this quaint, comfortable hotel again. The Blue Moon hotel is the perfect choice for a tranquil stay in a wild city. Have a look; this Miami hotel helps to make your trip as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
